In its research, the IPA focuses on Civil Procedural Law and Attorney Regulations. In the field of Procedural Law, the Institute deliberately follows the academic practice originally adopted in Germany of not assigning procedural rules to individual main disciplines, but rather treating them as a separate subject alongside the three fundamental areas of substantive law. In the field of Attorney Regulations and Professional Legal Ethics, the Institute emphasises its great importance by placing current developments in a broader context. In addition, lawyer-oriented legal training in Hannover is the topic of a wide range of academic research. For example, the topic of “lawyer exams” is regularly addressed in publications.
